Principles of disease prevention & control

Prevention (প্রতিরোধ) of communicable (সংক্রামক) disease:

A.    Controlling the reservoir (রোগের ধারক নিয়ন্ত্রন): 

1. Early diagnosis & treatment. দ্রুত রোগ নির্নয় ও চিকিৎসা।

2. Notification to the authority.চিকিৎসা বিষয়ক কর্তৃপক্ষকে জানানো

3. Isolation. পৃথক করে রাখা রোগীকে।

4. Quarantine. একটা নির্দিষ্ট সময় পর‌্যন্ত আলাদা থাকা

B.    Interruption  of transmission of disease-একজনের শরির থেকে আরেক জনের ছড়ানো

C.     Measures taken in the host:

1.      Immunization-টিকা দেয়া ।

2.      Chemoprophylaxis(কেমোপ্রফাইলেক্সিস)- কোন  ঔষধ দ্বারা রোগ প্রতিরোধ করা

Notification : Information to the local health authority whose responsibility is to put operation for controlling the disease.কোন রোগ নিয়ন্ত্রনের দায়িত্বপ্রাপ্ত আঞ্চলিক কর্তৃপক্ষকে সংবাদ জানানোকে বুঝায়।

Isolation (আইসোলেশন): Separation of infected person for the period of communicability from non infected or susceptible person to present transmission of the disease. যখন কোন সংক্রামন রোগ সংক্রামিত শরির হতে সুস্থ মানুষের মধ্যে ছড়িয়ে পড়ে, সে সময় রোগ ছড়ানো রোধ করতে রোগীকে আলাদা করে রাখাকে আইসোলেশন বলে।

Infestation (ইনফেস্টেশন): The lodgment (ধারন করা) development & reproduction of arthropods (পোকা মাকড়) on the surface of the body of any person or animal. আর্থপোডা শ্রেনীর প্রানী যখন মানুষের বা অন্য কোন প্রানীর শরীরে স্থান নিয়ে বৃদ্ধি প্রাপ্ত হয় এবং বংশ বিস্তার করে  এই সব প্রক্রিয়াকে ইনফেস্টেশন বলে।

Epidemiological  triad: 3 epidemiological factors (Agents, Host and environment) are commonly called epidemiological triad. একটা রোগ সৃষ্টির জন্য সাধারনত ৩ টি বিষয় দায়ী...  জীবানু, পোষক, এবং পরিবেশ এই উপাদানের সমন্বয়ে রোগের সৃষ্টি হয়।

Quarantine (কোয়ারেন্টাইন): limitation of freedom of movement of such well person exposed to communicable disease not longer than usual longest incubation period to prevent effective contact with non exposed. সংক্রামন ব্যাধি প্রতিরোধ করার জন্য সুস্থ ব্যক্তির চলাচলের স্বাধীনতা সংক্রামক ব্যাধির স্বাভাবিক সুপ্তাবস্থা পর‌যন্ত একটা সীমাবদ্ধ পরযায়ে রাখাকে কোয়ারেন্টাইন বলে।

Immunization (ইমুনাইজেশেন): Immunization is the technique where immunizing agent is administered in the body to prevent specific disease.নির্দিষ্ট রোগের বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিরোধ ব্যবস্থা গড়ে তোলার জন্য মানুষের শরীরের রোগ প্রতিরোধকারী বস্তু প্রয়োগ করাকে ইমুনাইজেশন বলে।

Chemoprophylaxis (কেমোপ্রফাইলেক্সিস): Protection of any person by drug administration. কোন ঔষধ প্রয়োগ করার মাধ্যমে রোগ প্রতিরোধ করাকে বলা হয়।

Prevention control of non-communicable (অসংক্রমক) disease:

1. Early diagnosis & treatment- দ্রুত রোগ নির্নয় ও চিকিৎসা করা
2. Control the environment(পরিবেশ নিয়ন্ত্রনে রাখা):
1.  Water, air pollution- বায়ু ও পানি দূষন নিয়ন্ত্রনে রাখা।
2. Prevention of accidents- দুর্ঘটনা প্রতিরোধ করা।
3. Change in life style- জীবন যাপনের ধারার পরিবর্তন করা। 
4. Upgrading sanitation-পয়নিষ্কাসন ব্যবস্থার উন্নতি ঘটানো।
5. Smoking & drug avoidance- ধুমপান ও নোশা জাতীয় বস্তু পরিহার করা।
3. Improvement of medical care-স্বাস্থ্য সেবার উন্নয়ন করা।
